Beauty is found in life's moments.
In the moment, life may not necessarily seem beautiful, especially through hardship and trials. But when I look back at life's moments, I can see the beauty in how each moment has changed me and shaped me to be the woman I am today.
Today is a big day for me. One for the books!
I will be walking across a stage to accept my diploma from medical school and officially be called a doctor! It's pretty surreal for me, especially since I can still remember the excitement of day one.
But let's be real, there were countless moments when those feelings were replaced with exhaustion and stress. Unexpected events also happened that turned my life upside down. Often, the culmination of it all made it hard to see beauty in the moments of life.
Thankfully, Something kept me going. I became stronger and kept striving to learn how to be the best doctor I can be. Through it all, I was taught how to not depend on myself, but to continue to trust in God for His wisdom, strength, love and grace. All in all, I count myself incredibly blessed to have incredible prayer warriors and support system who have offered a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
This week's Sevenly campaign is T.A.P.S., an organization that provides resources and love to children who lost a parent in US military service. That is one huge undertaking! In grief, it's hard to see beauty through the thick haze of painful feelings. But with the necessary help, kids can learn to bravely live out their beautiful lives.
My hope is that each child in need of these resources will be helped! But more so, that one day, they will look back on their lives and find beauty in how their hardship shaped them into the stronger person they have become. Would you please consider supporting this incredible cause by purchasing an item or a few from Sevenly? Here are some of my favorites:
PS. Today (5/21/15) is the LAST DAY to submit a photo of your bare feet with hashtag #withoutshoes to donate a pair of Toms shoes to those around the world without shoes! Please join me in changing the world!
