To be unique.
The age of the internet and social media has made it increasingly difficult to find the unique attributes that make you who you are. Everyone gets swept up into being like someone else they "follow" or fearing to have a different opinion than the popular opinion.
I remember last year having a crisis of identity as I was diving into this world of social media and blogging. I questioned why I was even putting so much work into something when my online persona seemed to look like every other lifestyle or fashion blogger.
Honestly, it was scary. All throughout my life I made a point to be different. I had grown up hearing how I should aim to swim against the current and make an effort to stand out. It was never easy, but I thought I was doing okay by never conforming to the world.
But there I was, fearing that I had been swept up in the current.
Thankfully, I was reminded of the truth that I am created uniquely. I was given my own purpose to walk on this earth. And I need to stay true to myself and my own gifts that are unique and can never be compared to anyone else's gifts.
I am glad to be swimming against the current again, uniquely tailored as I am.
This desire to be unique also carries over into my wardrobe choices. I love finding unique pieces that no one else would find. This causes shopping to become tedious when it comes to finding the perfect pieces. Don't get me wrong, I love to shop, but it has its moments! And I can't always travel across the world to find these unique pieces, though I wish I could.
Recently, I came across an online shop that sells clothing for every occasion. And the best part? You can have the clothes custom made!
Eshakti is your answer to those rough shopping days when nothing fits right or you want something more unique. They have hundreds of gorgeous designs for dresses, jumpsuits, tops and bottoms. Then you can specify lengths, types of sleeves and necklines. With all those combinations, you can be sure to create a unique dress.
I chose one of their dresses and thought it'd be perfect to wear to a wedding anytime of the year. I customized the length to hit right above my knees, chose the V neckline and decided I liked it sleeveless. The fit is incredible and it's a piece I know I will be wearing throughout the seasons! Do you know what's even better? The design is no longer available which means that there's a great chance it does not have a twin walking around.
But have no fear if you like the print, there is a similar, but different, design with the same print that is also adorable!

What an amazing post, and it came at a perfect time. I've been feeling defeated and struggling with the same issues above. One moment I know I have a clear vision and point of view - and the next minute I see other people trying to do it too. Your post was much- needed. I appreciate your insights (and the outfit is gorgeous)!
