I love a pretty pleated skirt especially with the Spring season around the corner. It seems pleats are everywhere and have remained in fashion for years. My very first style blog post was of a pleated dress. And that was years ago before I started Grace in Style. There's something beautiful about the pleating process, especially when you consider the work it must take. I was looking up how to describe pleating and it brought to mind thoughts that have been on my mind lately.
Pleat: To gather.
Gathering in community is a beautiful social act because of its importance. This is something I've been learning over the years. As someone who loves to do everything on my own and prove that I can be self-sufficient, it's humbling.
When I've allowed others to help me, or have helped others, it's amazing how our combined gifts can produce so much more than we imagined.
I'm so thankful for these lessons learned and for my community for reminding me that we cannot do this alone and aren't meant to walk life alone. One of my favorite bible verses is a reminder of this truth:
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another."
- Hebrews 10:24-25
So here's to encouraging one another daily to do good and love well!

So pretty, I don't think pleats look good on me, but they look fantastic on you! Stopping by from the link up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful-written post Grace. I want a pleated maxi skirt and a dress, too. Yours is beautiful and I love the first pair of earrings and that book clutch. How cute that a change of jewelry between both looks, still makes this outfit noticeable and unique. =)
ReplyDeleteI welcome you to stop by my blog too. On Thursdays I host a linkup - come share your pretty style with me and my readers. =)
Thanks, Ada.
This is so feminine and pretty!
